Provision

Provision/ answered prayers/ blessings

Sometimes when I remember to put God first and go to him in prayer before starting a search or making a decision it goes something like this. Dear Lord, open the door and close the doors and lead me where you would have me.  I don’t want to miss an opportunity you have for me, I want what you want …… So I prayed that very message before looking for jobs for this winter, I knew where I wanted to be and where I was certain he would lead me. I wanted to keep in line with the next step I had planned out, ya know plan A, but I had plan B just in case because well if Im honest even though I say Im letting God direct my path… I should have a back up, just in case HIs isn’t good enough or works out!   So plan A was a beach park in CA, but plan B was a resort park outside of Big Bend Tx so I was close to where I wanted to be for the summer …mid west and north west area.  But I hadn’t prayed about either, so after talking with a friend who asked what was next, and realizing I hadn’t prayed about it. I did just that, I prayed, I stopped, I asked for God to guide my search and yes to open and close doors.  So He very swiftly and effectively closed doors in CA and TX as I never received any replies from applications sent.  But instantly received a reply from Ga. which was a new search and application after praying!  It all went like clockwork, set up a phone interview prayed again please open and close doors… phone interview went very well and boom got the job. Prayers answered doors opened.

End of story ….but wait is it?

Did he crack the door or blow it wide open?

Do we settle for cracked, do we step through it at that point to see what else may be there?  Do we get so caught up in driving to Ga and having a job and busy in life we miss the rest of the blessing?

Yup or at least I did! So, little did I realize there are 2 sides to this park the lake and the river.  The lake is small 17 sites and you have cell reception, the river is much bigger with 80 plus sites and no cell reception. Yes I’m blessed I’m at the lake.  Also the lake has 2 host sites and I was new and the next day the second host site also had new arrivals who are wonderful, social and fun and hard working people who I now call life long friends!  The river has 4 host sites, lets just say its a tough unhappy mixture there. Oh wait there’s more! My adult kids live in DC which is about 12 hours form this location and my daughter ended up moving apartments in DC and I was close enough to be able to help here move AND my camp host partners were cool enough to cover me for 10 days to help her!   Do you see it yet, not only did He bless me by opening the door for the job, but he blessed me with the best possible site and location and surrounded me with good people! Oh and well, I will admit I am not a cat a person, there was a camp ferrel cat and where did she reside?? Not under my camper with her squirrel tails and such but under the other host site! Ask and you will receive comes to mind, not that I had even thought of please keep any ferrel cats from living under my rig but I did ask for His will and plan to unfold.  I was struck today that so often we are so busy in life we don’t stop to “see” the blessing or take it for granted or coincidence

Today I realize its divine intervention and I’m thankful! Sometimes we never “see” all God has worked out for us, storms he has held back and safe guarded us from, people he has put in our paths but sometimes if we stop and look, listen and seek we catch a glimmer of his masterful plan,  a plan by the way that is always for our good and so much better than we could ever devise. In the book of James it says to count all things joy, which come on, if we are honest there are plenty of events and times in our lives that joy is no where to be found and we often ask How can this be part of the the plan?  My opinion, is two fold, we live under a curse, from long ago with what happened in the garden, remember His plan was much different and all the bad and sorrow we have in the world is because of a decision, a choice made by two people and before you go about blaming them look in the mirror! We all sin they were no different! I did say two fold, I believe that while He doesn’t create bad things the curse did that, bad things can draw us closer to Him and they also give us empathy and real talking points to meet someone else in need, crumbling under the weight of the very terrible horrible rotten thing you lived through. So my advice is to stop planning by yourself, tear up the list of the perfect trip, man, woman, life and allow God the time and space to work things out for you seek Him first!
